MAX JOSEPH is the magazine of the Bayerische Staatsoper. It has been published four times a year since the 2008/09 season and is available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. MAX JOSEPH is only available in the Nationaltheater and in the shop of the Bavarian State Opera. The aim of MAX JOSEPH is to relate the new productions of the house to historical and current political and social issues, to initiate debates and to create connections between the opera repertoire and the daily experience of the audience. The magazine plays offensively with the combination of performing and applied art, thus creating a unique synergy. MAX JOSEPH was awarded the Lead Award for Best Magazine of the Year 2012.
